Welcome to 7th ASPASP International Congress

On behalf of the members of the organizing committee as well as the Japanese Society of Sport Psychology, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you the 7th Asian-South Pacific Association of Sport Psychology International Congress in Tokyo, Japan during the period from 7th to 10th August, 2014.This is a momentous occasion for the JSSP because following the 40th anniversary of JSSP, the 7th ASPASP International Congress will be held in Japan. This congress is of major importance for the promotion of our scholarly exchanges as well as for the progress in the study of sport psychology in Japan.
As you know, Tokyo was elected to be the host city for the 2020 Olympics. In organizing the 2020 Olympics, people must be excited in a variety of fields. The 2020 Olympics must trigger the expansion of the field of sport psychology.Consequently, our studies in sport psychology must be advanced qualitatively and quantitatively.
I am hoping that we will further strengthen bonds with each other through our scholarly exchanges during this conference as following the theme of this year’s congress, namely, “Strengthening the Bonds with People through Sport and Exercise”. I believe that this congress will contribute to further progress in the ASPASP.
The organizing committee will continue to make every effort to provide you with a great opportunity for scholarly exchange during the 7th ASPASP International Congress in Tokyo. We are looking forward to meeting you in Tokyo, Japan.

Prof. Dr. Shiro Nakagomi
